Abstract

'You might be alarmed to know just how much information you leave behind when you surf the net. Some of it is harmless, but some details can be used to identify your computer's unique IP address, and even you, depending on how your system is configured. And while we'd like to think in a perfect world that personal information would never be abused, we all know that is not the case. If you're using a computer in a web café, library or other public place, it's essential you don't leave behind a virtual trail that could expose more of your personal information than you realise.'
