According to a report of the United States Consul at Zurich, the trial of a new electric accumulator boat Zurich, capable of carrying from 80 to 100 passengers was in every way successful. Over a course of about three miles it reached a speed of about eight miles an hour, and it was estimated that an average of six and a-half miles an hour could be achieved on longer trips. The length of the boat was 50 ft.; the draught 4 ft.; and the weight, including accumulators and machinery - 6.5 tons - 16 tons.
