Abstract

Captain Edenborough, of the United States Navy had carried out a series of experiments on torpedoes (mines) under the instructions of the Turkish Government, which had already sunk 300 mines at the Black Sea mouth of the Bosphorus rendering it impassable to a hostile fleet.
