Abstract

Referring to an earlier article on rockets in which it was said "possibly even the principle of the rocket may be successfully applied to the transmission of torpedoes," Charles Ramus drew the Editor's attention to a series of experiments that had been made by the Admiralty in July 1873 involving rocket-driven floats, calculated to pass along the surface of the water at a rate of 80 to 100 miles per hour.
