Abstract

The Orage (length 143 feet, beam 14 feet 9 inches, draught 8 feet 3 inches, displacement 104 tons; contract speed 20.5 knots), fitted with an 1,200 indicated horsepower inverted-vertical triple-expansion engine operating on steam supplied at 200 pounds per square inch supplied by two Thornycroft water-tube boilers, armament; two torpedo tubes, one in the bow, the other mounted on a turntable aft, and two 35-millimetre Hotchkiss Machine guns.
