The 31-knot destroyer Akatsuki (length 220 feet 6 inches, beam 20 feet 6 inches, draught 5 feet 6 inches; displacement 363 tons), built by Yarrow and Company, Limited, Poplar, for the Imperial Japanese Government, was launched from Yarrow's new works at Poplar on the 13th of November 1901.
