Abstract

The torpedo boat G 108 (length 216 feet 1 inch, beam 21 feet 11 inches, draught 9 feet 5 inches; displacement 433 tons), built by Germaniawerft, Kiel, for the German Government, was launched in early September 1901. G 108 was the first of six boats built to the same design by Germaniawerft. They were as large as contemporary division boats, and their twin engines were designed to develop nearly 6,000 indicated horsepower.
