Abstract

The French torpedo boat Tramontane (length 147 feet 9 inches, waterline, beam 16 feet 7 inches, draught 4 feet 11 inches; displacement 119 tons, normal, 165 tons, full load) was to be launched at Bordeaux in June 1901. The designed speed of the Tramontane was between 29 to 30 knots with the engines indicting 4,400 horsepower.
