Abstract

The torpedo boat destroyer Sazanami (length 220 feet, beam 20 feet 6 inches, draught 5 feet 3 inches; trial speed 31.38 knots) fitted with twin 6,000 indicated horsepower (total) 20 and a half inch by 31 and a half inch by 34 inches (2) by 18 inch stroke triple-expansion marine engines with Yarrow, Schlick, and Tweedy balancing, operating at 392 revolutions per minute with steam supplied by four Yarrow straight water-tube boilers, built by Yarrow and Company, Limited, Poplar, for the Imperial Japanese Government.
