Abstract

A torpedo boat (length 128 feet, beam 13 feet, displacement 70 tons; trial speed 22.94 knots) fitted with a 1,000 indicated horsepower inverted-vertical triple-expansion condensing marine engine operating on steam supplied by a marine locomotive boiler, with its hull divided into ten compartments by nine watertight bulkheads, was built by Messrs. Yarrow and Co. of Poplar for the Imperial Chinese Navy.
