Abstract

Normandy's Patent Marine Aerated Fresh Water Co. Ltd. displayed several of their distilling apparatuses at the Engineering and Metal Trades Exhibition. Their still for torpedo boats was a compact arrangement occupying a space of 40 inches by 22 inches capable of producing 175 pounds of fresh water for every 100 pounds of steam used; the extra 75 pounds being gained by the secondary evaporation of the sea water used for condensing.
