Abstract

An illustration of the first-class torpedo boat of the Batoum type (length 99 feet 10 inches, beam12 feet 6 inches, draught 4 feet 10 and a half inches; displacement 39 and a half tons) built by Yarrow and Co., Poplar, for the Argentine Government, fully rigged for the voyage to Argentina. These boats were more strongly built than other vessels of their type as they were intended for coastal work in unsheltered waters.
