Abstract

The air reservoir of the torpedo that had exploded at Woolwich Arsenal had been hydraulically tested at pressures between 1100 and 1200 pounds per square inch, repeatedly filled to a pressure of 1000 pounds per square inch, and filled to a pressure of 1000 pounds per square inch on the day that it exploded.
