A preliminary high-speed trial of the torpedo boat destroyer Ikadsuchi (length, 220ft.; beam, 20ft. 6in.; draught, 8ft. 6in.) fitted with two inverted vertical triple-expansion engines with cylinders 20.5in. by 31.5in. by two 34in. by 18in. stroke operating at 400 revolutions per minute on steam supplied at 250 pounds per square inch by four Yarrow water-tube boilers.
