The lecture that had been delivered by Captain H. de Haigh, of the Royal Engineers, at the United Service Institution on "The Zalinsky Pneumatic Gun." and the discussion that followed had shed a considerable amount of light on the subject. The early portion of the paper was devoted a short history of the weapon and its development, whilst the latter portion described the pneumatic tube and summarized the results of the experiments carried out on it.
