- Abstract
La Marine Francaise had devoted a considerable amount of space to a lengthy discussion on submarines and submarine warfare. Experiments had shown that a surfaced submarine it could not be seen at a distance beyond 1700 metres, and even only when the water was clear and the sea smooth, if the surface of the water was only slightly ruffled, the submarine could approach even closer.
