Abstract

'An increasing focus on international exchange across commerce and industry, science and technology, and government and diplomacy, has helped shape the global landscape of post-Cold War era. The transfer of communications has become both rapid and detailed, and even the most remote parts of the globe have become accessible. Notably for security analysts, increasing international integration has seen policy attention shift strategically from military concerns to economic interests. With economic competitiveness superseding military rivalry as the barometer for national security, there has been a marked growth in espionage for commercial purposes.'
