Abstract

Technical surveillance, the technical surveillance procedures or electronic devices used to assist in surveillance operations eg. long-range night vision cameras, listening devices, GPRS (general packet radio service) tracking systems and mobile phone interception. Technical surveillance counter measures, also known as de-bugging or 'sweeps', can be described as the detection, protection or minimization of all the above-mentioned devices and more. It allows people to protect themselves and gives them solutions to how confidential information can be kept confidential.
