Abstract

The construction of torpedo boats was not confined to England. Mr. F. Schichau, of Elbing, had received an order for twenty-three boats for the German Navy and was producing them at the rate of one a week. Orders for the Chinese and Russian Navy had also been received and it was becoming evident that the building of torpedo boats was not the closed business it appeared to be in the past.
