Abstract

'A new form of torpedo which has been named the "Victoria" is now being manufactured at Aston in England, and the London Times is authority for the statement that it "promises to be an improvement on the torpedoes hitherto in use. The new torpedo adopts many of the familiar contrivances of the Whitehead, Schwartzkopf, and other forms, but is indebted for its chief advantages to the inventions of Mr. Read Murphy of Melbourne, under whose supervision it is being constructed.'
