Abstract

"Lockheed Martin has beaten a bid from Boeing to secure a US Navy (USN) contract to investigate the feasibility of a concept to turn torpedoes into glide weapons. Known as the High-Altitude Anti-submarine warfare Weapons Concept (HAAWC) the 12-month USD 3 million study will integrate Lockheed Martin's LongShot wing adaptor kit - as used on the extended-range version of the Wing-Corrected Munition Dispenser bomb - GPS and a datalink with Raytheon's Mk 54 torpedo."
