Abstract

A second-class torpedo boat (length 60 feet, beam 9 feet 3 inches, displacement 9.5 tons; trial speed 20.5 knots) constructed almost entirely of aluminium by Messrs. Yarrow and Co., of Poplar, for the French Government successfully completed its official trials on the 20th of September 1894, and achieved a speed of 20.5 knots with a load of 3 tons on board.
