Abstract

The torpedo boat Fatum (length 101 feet 2 inches, beam 11 feet 6 inches, height at the centre 7 feet 8 inches; displacement 42 tons) fitted with two inverted-vertical compound engines developing between 450 and 500 horsepower with steam supplied at 140 pounds per square inch by a single marine locomotive boiler built by Messrs. Orlando Brothers, Engineers and Shipbuilders, Leghorn, for the Italian Government was armed with two torpedo tubes, and two Nordenfelt machine guns.
