Abstract

The torpedo cruiser Psilander (length 222 feet 2 inches overall, beam 26 feet 11 inches, draught 10 feet 1 inch; displacement 801-833 tons) fitted with eight Yarrow water-tube boilers, and built by Bergsund, Stockholm, for the Swedish Government, achieved a speed of 19.1 knots with natural draught firing, 20.7 knots with forced draught firing, and developed 2,946 and 4,775 indicated horsepower respectively, during her official trials.
