Abstract

The Yarrow built Austrian torpedo boats Boa and Cobra excited a great deal of admiration from observers with the Channel Fleet at Gibraltar. The general opinion was that they were eminently practical boats, capable of withstanding a great deal of knocking about without deteriorating, which was considered to be just as important as high speed.
