Abstract

The second of the six Viper type first-class torpedo boats (length 152 feet, beam 15 feet 3 inches, draught 7 feet 9 inches; displacement 140 tons) built by Yarrow and Company, Poplar, for the Chilean Government was successfully completed in mid-January, 1897. The remaining four boats were to be shipped to Chile in pieces and assembled there.
