Abstract

The Editor of The Engineer drew his reader's attention to the advantages of armoured torpedo destroyers in 'Armoured-plated torpedo boats.' Editorial, The Engineer, vol. 82, 17 July 1896, p. 63, and foreign governments had not been slow to see the advantages to be gained. Yarrow and Company, Poplar, had finished the construction of four of these vessels, the 26.52 knot Santa Fe, the 26.76 knot Entre Rios, the 27.06 knot Misiones, and the 27.40 knot Corrientes.
