Abstract

The Czar, accompanied by the Grand Duke Alexandrovitch, the Naval Commander-in-Chief, visited the torpedo catcher Sokol shortly after the Sokol's arrival in St. Petersburg. At that time the Sokol (length 190 feet, beam 18 feet 6 inches; trial speed 30.285 knots; maximum speed 32.000 knots), was one of the fastest vessels afloat.
