Abstract

In the authors opinion the results obtained by Alfred Yarrow were illusory as the propeller was part of the engine and to run the engine without it did not prove anything. Vogelsang also believed that if the three-bladed propeller used by Alfred Yarrow was relaced replaced with a four-bladed one the vibration at all speeds would hardly be noticeable.
