Abstract

It was noted in the Parliamentary paper, entitled 'Extracts from the Report of the Committee on Naval Manoeuvres 1888.' that the facilities for producing and storing fresh-water in torpedo boats were unsatisfactory. The Committee noted that all boats were fitted with double distillers, and that it was undesirable for them to carry more fresh water than necessary, as the extra weight involved would reduce their speed.
