The torpedo boat Wiborg, built by Messrs. Thomson of Clydebank, underwent a series of turning trials; with the rudder fixed at an angle of 33 degrees and the speed of the boat varying between 8 and 21.9 knots the Wiborg took between 2 minutes 56 seconds and 1 minute 13 seconds to complete turning circles varying in diameter from 142 yards to 227 yards. Experiments were also made to determine the time taken in reversing the vessel from full-speed ahead to full-speed astern, and the effect of flooding various compartments. Accession No.133. See also
