- Abstract
On the 21st of April 1886 Messrs. Marshall and Weighton presented a paper on 'High-speed marine engines.' To the North-East Coast Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders in which they advocated that the methods of design and construction that had greatly reduced the weights of naval vessels be applied to the mercantile marine.
