- Abstract
The Scout was launched from Messrs. Thomson's yard at Clydebank on the 30th of July 1885, and achieved an unofficial trial speed of 17.3 knots on the Clyde at Skelmorlie on the 20th of August 1885. A description of the Scout and her proposed role was discussed in detail.
