Abstract

The twin-screw yacht Water Lily (length 80 feet, beam 14 feet) was fitted with two four cylinder inverted "V" marine engines of 16 nominal horsepower collectively, built by Vosper and Co., Portsmouth, for Mr Arthur Kavanagh M.P. These engines replaced two 9-inch by 9-inch stroke single engines and drove the yacht faster and with less vibration, a similar pair of engines had also been installed in a boat belonging to a Mr Croft of Fleetwood.
