Abstract

A steam launch (length 40 feet, beam 7 feet, draught 3 feet), fitted with a five and three quarter inch by six inch stroke twin cylinder inverted-vertical simple marine engine with steam supplied at 60 pounds per square inch by a vertical cross-tube boiler 3 feet six inches in diameter by 4 feet 6 inches high with four tubes and coupled to a 36 inch propeller. Built by Messrs. Miller and Tupp, Hammersmith, for passenger traffic on the Ganges.
