Abstract

A steam launch (length 45 feet, beam 8 feet, draught 9 inches; trial speed eight miles per hour), was fitted with two five and a half inch by 10 inch stroke inclined simple marine engines mounted on either side of the barrel of a locomotive boiler, directly coupled to two side paddle wheels 54 inches in diameter; built by Messrs. Yarrow and Hedley, Poplar.
